Gettin’ good players is easy. Gettin’ em to play together is the hard part. ~ Casey Stengel
There are many people who contribute to putting together a successful trade show. Everyone in our team has specific responsibilities. Here are five ways to make your trade show team more efficient:
1. Communication
It is important that everyone is on the same page. Communication is one of the most important skills that you need to succeed in the work place. Even a small task such as replying to an email makes all the difference. Everyone should understand that someone might not be able to complete their work goals, while waiting on a response from a coworker.
2. Deadlines, Deadlines, Deadlines
In the trade show industry, deadlines are everything. Whether it’s contracts, booking hotels, or registering for exhibitor badges, we all must work together to meet our deadlines. Missing deadlines can not only cost you financially, but your reputation, as well. For instance, if people depend on you to make sure their travel is accommodated, they need to trust that flights and hotel reservations are taken care of without having to worry.
3. Learn From Mistakes
Grow from your mistakes, don’t let setbacks knock you down! In every mistake, there is a potential for growth. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Always be accountable for what you say and do.
4. Know Each Other’s Strengths
Don’t hesitate to share your abilities with your team. Work together to get stuff DONE! Offer help when it’s needed. While you may shine in organization, your coworker may shine in financing. Using each other’s strengths will allow you to have a better team.
5. Respect Each Other
Always be courteous and considerate. At TPG, not only do we support each other as a team, but we are a family. Working together allows you to complete your tasks SUCCESSFULLY. Remember to have a sense of humor and know how to have fun.
